Dive sites
Don't miss out on a diving holiday in Bandol, Sanary, and Six-Fours-Les-Plages! You can explore the base of many islands while remaining sheltered from the wind. Thus by leaving along the coast from west to east, you will first discover the Ile Verte at the foot of the Bec de l'Aigle, in front of La Ciotat. Then the islets of Le Défends, popular for their gorgonians, and Ile Rousse, which spread out further along the coast. The island of Bendor emerges opposite the town of Bandol and has a small cave on its western side. The islands of Les Embiez are located in the extension of the town of Six-Fours-Les-Plages, and Le Brusc. Are you a beginner diver? Each of these islands is a pleasure to discover underwater. Go to the Trifours site to see barracuda.
Explore La Pierre en Escaliers, a hole in the wall with many moray eels, and La Pierre à Maquereaux, a spot that can reach depths of 40 meters. If your level of diving allows it, go down even deeper to 46 meters, to Les Pérrusieres to observe the Saint-Pierre. La Pierre à Duval and La Pierre du Jas also hold some nice surprises. The Basses Moulinières is also the best dive site in Six-Fours-Les-Plages because of the many groupers that roam at shallow depths of between 10 and 25 meters.
Your favorite dive centers offer you the possibility to go to more remote and less explored spots. With the decrease in the number of divers, they become the best of the best dive sites in the Var! Continue further east, weather permitting, towards Cap Sicié to get to Saint-Mandrier. Explore La Sèche des Pêcheurs, a rocky rise drained by a strong current. Here you can see octopus, cuttlefish, and a school of barracuda. And of course, dive to the Two Brothers, two rocks emerging from the water that are very popular to explore. They mark the wreck of the Arroyo, broken into two pieces and lying between 25 and 36 meters on a sandy bottom. Go to the Var, this beautiful region of France where you will enjoy diving from April to October!
Others Activities
Cap Sicié is a superb place for its wild aspect and its maritime environment. We take a nice walk to the top where the Notre-Dame-de-Bonne-Garde chapel is built. This one shelters many ex-votos in recognition of the lives of sailors spared by the sea. You will enjoy a superb 360° view of the sea and bay. The orientation table makes it easy to find your way around. A beautiful 3-hour hike around the island of Embiez to the village with wild itineraries in the middle of the scrubland provides access to beautiful views. Cross the island of Gaou by paths leading to small coves to sunbathe and swim quietly. Then take a detour to the Chapel of Our Lady of Pepiole, isolated in the olive trees.
