Mundo Submarino is located in Veracruz, Mexico. It's opened Monday to Friday from 9 am to 7 pm, Saturday from 8 am to 8 pm and Sunday from 8 am to 3 pm. On-site, you will find a shop with rental and sale of equipment, filling station. You can rent brand new and quality dive gear to enjoy diving comfortably and safely. The modern boat has a capacity of 12 pax with jumps sheltering from the rain and sun and gets quickly to the dive sites. Drinks and snacks on board are offered during the surface interval between the 2 dives. The supervision is made by qualified instructors and guides. They offer exploratory dives, snorkeling, and freediving, day and night. It's possible to dive with nitrox. The diving courses taught at Mundo Submarino are based on the educational system developed by the recreational diving agencies PADI, NAUI, CMAS and SSI, all regulated by the RSTC, an advice agency that certifies and establishes recreational diving standards worldwide. We are looking for a certain quality of diving here with a maximum of 6 divers per boat. The destination is perfect for divers of all levels. Every day, Yucatek Divers takes you to explore the Mexican Maya Riviera, the longest coral reef in the Western Hemisphere. On request, trips in the jungle are organized to access the cenotes, the famous network of caves and underground caves of world renown. It is also possible to go to the island of Cozumel, visible eastwards from Playa beach, 45 minutes by ferry. From June to September, Yucatek Divers also organizes a trip to encounter the whale shark, the world's largest fish, when they pass off Holbox Island, a 3-hour drive north of Playa del Carmen, at the tip of the Yucatan Peninsula. The excursion starts at 4 am in the morning with a departure by comfortable minibus to reach the fishing village of Chiquila, then you board a ferry to Holbox Island with a 1-hour trip to be on site. No matter what type of diving you do, scuba diving, snorkeling or freediving, the instructors and guides pay attention to the divers with small snorkels and personalized supervision because this is the best way to appreciate the underwater biodiversity of this area. The dives here are characterised by their tranquillity with good visibility when you explore the Great Mayan Barrier Reef, which is the second longest reef system in the world, with more than 70 kilometres of labyrinths and crevices where turtles and lobsters live. 40 dive sites around Mahahual such as Chinchorrito, Los Escalones, Faro Viejo drained by strong currents and reserved for very experienced divers are at your disposal. Other sites will delight beginner divers such as La Grieta de las Langostas, Paitocal, Punta Tam, Balamku, Aquarium, Chinchorrito, Escalones, Herradura, 40 Canyons, Two Eyes, and of course the very popular Puerto Angel! The seabed here is very little explored and every day the exploration of a new dive site surpasses the previous one. For those who enjoy snorkeling, you will appreciate the diversity of the coral reefs of Mahahual. 60 km south of Mahahual is the Xcalak Reefs National Park with moose horn coral, Megalopus Atlanticus visited by schools of horse mackerel, snappers and groupers. Along the coastline, mangrove forests serve as nurseries for fish fry. The caves have narrow passages with long chimneys.
