Diving holidays and stays in Polynesia

Don't wait for your honeymoon to visit Tahiti in French Polynesia! The most popular characters of the jet-set like Barack Obama, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Hanks, and Oprah Winfrey come here to spend a dream vacation. Why not you?
With their superb landscapes of mountains covered with tropical forests, coconut palms and white sandy beaches on the edge of sumptuous lagoons of dazzling turquoise, these 5 Polynesian archipelagos in the southern Pacific Ocean are among the best diving destinations in the world.
Grouping 118 islands, of which only 67 are inhabited, the mountainous islands of the Society Archipelago, such as Moorea, Tahiti, Huahine, Raiatea, Tahaa, Bora-Bora, and Tetiaroa, leave you with a wealth of choices.

In Tahiti, you will discover the wrecks of a French gunboat, La Zélée, two airplanes, the Catalina and the Cessna, as well as a wooden schooner, the Orohena.
In Mooréa, one can admire a magnificent coral rose bed. We also very often come across lemon sharks.
Bora Bora
is popular for its manta rays. Grey sharks breed in the Avapehi Pass in Huahiné. In Tetiaora, there is a guided whale watching tour from mid-July to mid-October.
The Tuamotu Islands, located on the reef barrier of the atolls, are ideal places for a diving trip in Polynesia. We are in the foreground to reach the passes drained by the current and the reef barrier on the ocean side, forming vertiginous drop-offs with caves and faults, a must for diving!
Set off to make incredible encounters in the Tuamotu archipelago, within the atolls of Rangiroa, Manihi, Tikehau, and Fakarava.

A dive is exceptional in June, in Rangiroa in the Tiputa pass. During the reproduction period, grey sharks gather in hundreds in the Canyons.
In January, February and March, the Walk at a depth of 50 meters, is an extraordinary place in Rangiroa, for its gatherings of hammerhead sharks (S.Mokarran) attracted by the passages of leopard rays, their favorite prey.
Come and observe the marbled loaches (Epinephelus polyphekadion) that gather in Fakarava in June and July during the love period.
Whether you discover the joys of diving with a first dive or decide to improve your skills, Polynesian diving schools welcome you, whether you are a beginner or an experienced diver, whatever the organization has already certified you.
A holiday in Polynesia is planned by carefully choosing the islands where to dive according to the seasons and the weather, in order to optimize the beautiful encounters underwater!
Do you dream of traveling? Check out the conditions for entering this country on the Fit for Travel website.

Best dive season

The best time to go diving in Tahiti is from March to November. The climate is tropical. There are 2 seasons, one hot and rainy from November to April and the other cool and dry from May to October. There is more rain on the volcanic islands. The water temperature is always pleasant and varies from 28°C in January to 26°C in July. Visibility is often excellent. The air temperature varies from 30°C in January to 28°C in July. A suit (short or long) for tropical climates (3 mm) is usually sufficient.

Other activities

It is possible to practice all the water activities offered by the hotels on the high islands such as kite surfing, windsurfing, surfing, sailing, sea kayaking. In Tahiti, the visit to the coastline and the hikes in the mountains are interesting.
