The Underwater Explorers Society (UNEXSO) dive center was established in 1965. Open every day of the year from 8 am to 5 pm. On-site, a 2-story shop, Sun and Sea Outfitters, is stocked with diving equipment and holiday clothing. After a great day of diving, relax by the pool at the Dive In Marina Bar & Restaurant and sit down to a Bahamian meal or... a cheeseburger! Step back in time with a visit to the Dive Museum, featuring diving artifacts from UNEXSO's inception in 1965. Board one of the 7 Unexso boats for half or full-day trips with equipment rental and nitrox filling.
Whether you are an experienced diver or a beginner, a family or a honeymooner, you will find a team of professional diving instructors on-site! You don't have to dive or snorkel to see the spotted or long nose dolphins in their environment. Even non-divers have the chance to interact with these incredible animals by swimming alongside them. Because swimming with dolphins is a Bahamian island-specific activity! Meet them in the waters of Orange Cay, or in the freshwater river that divides Andros Island.
When you go out to meet wild dolphins, there is no guarantee that they will cooperate. With the Dolphin Swim, divers swim with dolphins in the protected waters of Sanctuary Bay. With the Dolphin Close Encounter program, you can sit on a partially submerged platform and spend time with the dolphins. UNEXSO also offers a half-day dolphin assistant training course (minimum age 16) to learn more about dolphin care. You then buy your photo! Also explore the popular wrecks Theo, Sea Star, and Rose that Unexso helped sink in the waters of Gran Bahamas. Explore some of the best sites in the Bahamas with Unexso such as Shark Junction, Theo's Wreck, Dolphin Dive, and Deep reefs.
