Characteristics of the wreck

44 m

Mediterranean Sea
Cargo (0)

A diving trip to L'Estartit, Spain allows you to explore the wreck of an Italian cargo ship, the Avvenire, 47 m long and nicknamed Marmoler because of its cargo of large blocks of marble visible in its holds. In May 1971, the Avvenire suffered a severe storm and sank when it ran aground on the coast of Montgrí, a mile from Punta Treca. The ship now lies upright on the mud at a depth of 44 meters, with the top of the superstructure rising to 32 meters. Lobsters have colonized the remains. Sometimes you see a sunfish around here. The site is accessible to experienced divers.
