A diving holiday in Saint Pierre, Martinique allows you to discover the wreck of the Amélie also called the "Epave du Raisinier". It is a steel sailboat 48 meters long which had a water ingress in its hull while anchored in the roadstead of Saint-Pierre. The crew spread the damage over two days and finally the boat was towed to Turin cove where it sank. between 5 and 12 meters deep. This colorful dive, surrounded by a multitude of reef fish, is accessible to all levels of divers.

The diving centre Espace Plongée Martinique is located in Trois-Îlets, Martinique. At 8.30 am and 2 pm, embark from the Pointe du Bout Marina for half-day diving trips. In general, you will explore sites along the southwestern side of Martinique, bathed by the Caribbean Sea, up to the Rocher du Diamant. The diving equipment, disinfected after each trip, is provided by the center, except for the dive computer and the lamp. The groups are organized according to the level of the divers. The boats of the club Espace Plongée Martinique, with capacities of 40 and 25 people, are also dedicated to groups, in a very friendly atmosphere!
Day trips are organized once a week, with 2 wreck and reef dives, to the north, to Saint-Pierre and Prêcheur, to discover wrecks such as the Roraïma, dating from the volcanic eruption of Mount Pelée. The return trips at the end of the day are an opportunity to have a very nice aperitif on board the boat. Photographers enjoy underwater landscapes with large yellow, pink and brown sponges.
Once a week, night dives are offered to observe the fluorescent plankton. The Espace Plongée Martinique training center also offers courses for children, from Bronze Diver to Gold Diver. You can also discover the underwater world with a first dive. The diving centre Papa d'lo Plongée Martinique is located in the centre of the town of Saint Pierre, in the bay, in the north of Martinique, in the Caribbean.
As it is open all year round, don't hesitate to do your first dive in Saint Pierre and then follow PADI and FFESSM training courses, from level 1 to 4 and with supervisors' courses. Supervised and autonomous explorations are organised according to the prerogatives of already certified divers.
The dive boat is moored opposite the Papa d'lo Plongée premises, with restricted equipment carrying. The navigation to the dive sites is between 5 and 20 minutes maximum. Set off from the shore to discover anchors dating from 1902 concretions by sponges, in the middle of soldierfish and boxfish. The club Papa d'lo Plongée Martinique allows you to go to the spots of mythical wrecks such as those of the Raisinier, the Dahlia, the Diamant, the Roraima, the very deep Tamaya and the Italian Yacht, with dives using mixtures or air.
Most of these boats were sunk during the eruption of Mount Pelee on 8 May 1902. Discover the local biodiversity, as well as the varied underwater landscape of deep and colourful drop, offs, just a short distance from the coast. The Babody canyons, created by lava flows from the volcanic eruption, are covered with white fluffy corals. Also visit the offshore rocks and dries such as the Submarine. [+]
