Scuba diving Canada

Diving holidays and stays in Canada

Talking about Canada already gives you the creeps? Become a Dry Suit Diver, then don a good dry suit made of compressed neoprene to explore lakes, islands, shipwrecks, and sunken villages.
The underwater atmosphere, sometimes green, sometimes phantasmagorical, is like nothing you've ever experienced before!
Snorkeling trips
are sometimes proposed by diving centers, as in the Tobermory area, but wearing a dry suit does not promote the usual feeling of freedom!
The land, lakes, and rivers of Canada stretch from the US border in the south to the Arctic Circle in the north.
The underwater fauna varies from region to region with large sponges, soft corals, sea fans, anemones, starfish, crabs, scarlet psolus, sea urchins, sea urchins, sea fisheries, sea cucumbers, and sea raspberries abound.
East of Baie-Comeau, steep cliffs flow into the sea, making the dive sites accessible only by boat. The presence of Greenland sharks has made this area popular.

In Sainte-Luce and Bas-Saint-Laurent, explore the wrecks Empress of Ireland, sunk in 1914, and further on, the military ship, the Nippigon.
Around Percé Rock and Bonaventure Island, in the Gaspé Peninsula, curious seals come to play in front of the caves and over the remains of wrecked ships.
In Lake Memphrémagog, in Georgeville, 24 dive sites accessible by boat are spread out over a distance of 40 km with forests of algae bordering large underwater cliffs.
In the Morrison quarry, located in the village of Wakefield, the clear water with few fishes conceals wrecks deliberately placed there such as an airplane, 2 cars, a tugboat, a submarine, a BBQ, and ABITA-1, a Quebec underwater house.

In the underwater park of Lake Saint-François, in Montérégie, important colonies of yellow perch (Perca flavescens), sunfish (Lepomis gibbosus), walleye (Sander vitreus), bass (Micropterus dolomieu), rock crab (Ambloplites rupestris) and pike have developed. Take a look at the wrecks, the Anne-Marie G. and the barge.
In Forillon National Park in the Gaspé Peninsula, a dozen dive sites line the southern part of the peninsula and the eastern tip of Forillon. Rich in color, forests of kelp and seals, the tautogous tench (Tautogolabrus adspersus) do not hesitate to approach divers to see if they have something to eat!
Cetacean watching in Tadoussac, Quebec
extends from mid-April to early August, as millions of tons of capelin lay their eggs close to shore, attracting rorqual whales and the whales that feed on them.
In Churchill, Manitoba, Hudson Bay is a gathering place for beluga whales. If conditions permit, a dive or snorkeling trip to take pictures may be considered.
