Dusky batfish
Swim, Snorkel, Dive, See, Meet, Watch the Dusky batfish
The yellow-finned bat has a silvery livery with wide vertical black stripes. Its dorsal, anal and caudal fins are yellow, bordered with black. It is about 50 centimeters long. It is very recognizable by its rounded silhouette, its rounded forehead, like a small cartoon character.
Juveniles are found in shallow water, inside lagoons, and on plains, to escape their predators. Adults live above shipwrecks and in areas of coral gardens up to 30 meters deep.
It is a very curious fish. It likes to approach divers who are on the landing, looking at them brazenly through their masks and playing in their bubbles.
