Information
A diving trip in Koh Kood and Koh Chang allows us to discover the wreck of the HTMS Chang, the largest boat wreck in Thai waters. This American ship, also called USS Lincoln County (LST-898), was built during World War II, on October 15, 1944. Then it was used during military campaigns in Southeast Asia before being sold to the Thai Navy in 1961 which removed all its contaminants by deliberately sinking it on November 22, 2012, to create an artificial reef off Ko Chang. The wreck, 100 meters long and 15 meters high, is positioned at a depth of 31 meters on a sandy bottom and its main deck rises to a depth of 24 meters. To see the decks, the troop cabins, the briefing rooms, the captain's cabin, the corridors, an engine room, the guns. Count 40 minutes of navigation from Bang Bao to reach the HTMS Chang. Here you can observe frogfish, whale sharks, and reef sharks.
