Scuba diving Canary Islands

Diving holidays and stays on the island of Canary Islands

A 4-hour flight from Europe, the diving destination in the Canary Islands is ideal for sunny winters and festive summers. Located west of Morocco, in the Atlantic Ocean, the Canary Islands offer subtropical diving conditions, with a water temperature between 18° and 24°C and good visibility all year round. This archipelago is composed of 7 main islands of volcanic origin, each very different.
Lanzarote
, classified as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO, presents sumptuous landscapes of black lava dotted with green oases. Among its diving sites is the Museo Atlantico, an underwater museum located in Playa Blanca, made up of 35 sculptures by the artist Jason de Caires Taylor.
Do not hesitate to make a diving trip to Fuerteventura, to discover about twenty different diving sites in the marine park of Isla de Logos.
Gran Canaria
is the largest and most populated of the islands with, to the north, its capital Las Palmas. The Mogán area is ideal for taking pictures of angel sharks and rays on the Wreck of Cermona II.

To the north of Gran Canaria are the reserves of Sardina del Norte and Caleta Baja, with labyrinths, faults, and caves.
In Tenerife, Las Galletas and Costa Adeje remain the meeting point for divers with beautiful wreck dives in El condecito and Las rayas. For wildlife, go to Las Rosas and Roca de las catalufas. The Cueva del Tiburon is not to be missed. Along the south coast of Tenerife, sperm whales and fin whales can be seen all year round.
La Gomera
has 92 km of practically unexplored coastline with some great dives such as Roque Del Herrero and El Aguilas for its 4 caves. The coast of Valle Gran Rey is ideal for meeting spotted dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, whales, sperm whales, and rorquals.
La Palma
, surmounted by 3 volcanoes, has a popular underwater cemetery as well as the Las Cabras spot. Whales, dolphins and sperm whales can be observed from the port of Tazacorte, on the west coast of La Palma.
As you can see, diving in the Canary archipelago is a great experience to share with your partner, family, and friends with underwater landscapes of cooled lava creating caves, drop-offs, and arches.
