Koh Tao, the turtle island, is part of the Chumphon Archipelago in the Gulf of Thailand. You can admire the beautiful landscapes of this place with white sandy beaches lined with coconut trees, steep cliffs, lush jungle and sumptuous coves with turquoise waters. A wide variety of accommodation, small restaurants, nightclubs, and dive centers are concentrated in Mae Haad Bay and near Sairee Beach.

Koh Tao is the leading place for Open Water Diver training in the world. This destination is therefore ideal for beginner divers. Experienced divers also have interesting dive sites with a visit to Chumphon Pinnacle and exploration of the HTMS Sattakut. However, the island is very busy during the high season with many boats on the dive sites. Snorkeling from the coast is a pleasant experience. Nevertheless, be careful with currents that force you to turn back to the shore.

The best time for a dive trip in Koh Tao is from May to September. From November to February the visibility is lower, about 20 m.The best time to dive with whale sharks is from March to May.
Although the sites do not have the same notoriety as those of Koh Lanta, Koh Phi Phi, Similan Islands, and Surin Archipelago, Koh Tao remains popular for diving on Chumphon Pinnacle as well as for all the dive training that is taking place there. It is also a privileged place for the observation of hawksbill and green turtles that come to breed on white sandy beaches surrounded by lush vegetation and large blocks of dark granite.
Around Koh Tao, there are 20 dive sites accessible to all divers. The seabed of Koh Tao consists mainly of hard corals as seen at the Japanese garden site.

Chumphon Pinnacle is a high rocky bottom that outcrops the surface. To see schools of red snappers, fusiliers, and snappers.A few meters deep, a huge plateau stretches with corals, sponges, gorgonians, and anemones where clownfish hide. It is sometimes possible to see whale sharks and leopard rays. Near the island, several wrecks such as the 48 m long HTMS Sattakut, also known as the USS LCI-739, have been discovered. The boat sank in 2011, in 30 m of water. It was part of a convoy of several amphibious assault ships that served during the war in 1939-1940. The wreck became an artificial reef with groupers and morays living there.

The supervision is made by an entirely French-speaking, dynamic and experienced teaching team within a human-sized club. French Kiss joins the environmental organizations of Sea Shepard and Longitude 181. The French Kiss spirit is found in Lembongan in Indonesia, Malpascua and Coron in the Philippines.
